All’insegna dello slogan “Il sangue serve come il pane”, un’iniziativa della FRATRES Toscana dedicata al 14 giugno (oggi) quale “giornata mondiale del donatore” ci ricorda che occorre recuperare prima possibile quanto perso in donazioni durante il periodo COVID.
L’anno della pandemia ha segnato un calo di donazioni di sangue un po’ ovunque. Si parla di oltre duemila in meno nel 2020 rispetto al 2019, con un totale di circa 15mila unità: non sono cifre di poco conto.
E proprio adesso che siamo ormai alle porte dell’estate 2021 il problema rischia di porsi in tutta la sua drammaticità, con un fisiologico aumento stagionale della richiesta cui non corrisponde più un’adeguata disponibilità di scorte.
Tuttavia associazioni come la nostra non si lasciano scoraggiare e cercano di farsi trovare pronte a recuperare il terreno perduto.
Significativamente, per esempio, il gruppo Fratres di Torre del Lago – guardiamolo nel video a questo link https://youtu.be/KO8-2ADAHDQ – ha varato un’applicazione pratica dello slogan regionale secondo cui “il sangue serve come il pane”, in accordo con le panetterie locali aderenti, distribuendo loro delle buste di carta per il pane recanti stampati tutti i loghi e i riferimenti di Fratres.
Dal canto nostro non possiamo che rilanciare il medesimo invito alla donazione. E dato che le vaccinazioni in corso sono l’altro grande argomento d’attualità, vogliamo ricordare che donare sangue ed emocomponenti è perfettamente possibile anche poco dopo vaccinazione anti-Covid, pur con qualche semplice cautela: che è ciò di cui parleremo nel prossimo articolo.
